Developer API Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-07-30

1. Acceptance

These terms are an agreement between you and SimpleCareer (“we,” “us,” or “our”) governing your use of the SimpleCareerjobs data API, the developer portal, and the related documentation (together, the “Service”). By creating a developer account or calling the API, you accept these terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of a company, you confirm that you have authority to bind that company, and “you” means the company. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

The Service provides programmatic access to job-postings data that we collect from employers’ public career sites, along with related company records and a change feed. We may add, change, or remove endpoints, fields, and coverage over time.

3. Accounts and API keys

You need a developer account to use the API. Keep one account per organization; do not create multiple accounts to multiply free limits. Your API keys are secrets: do not publish them, embed them in client-side code, or share them outside your organization. You are responsible for all usage under your keys, whether or not you authorized it. If you believe a key has leaked, revoke it in the portal right away.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Resell, redistribute, sublicense, or republish the data as a dataset, data dump, or competing API. You may use the data inside your own product or analysis; you may not make the data itself the product.
  • Rebuild or substantially reconstruct the dataset through bulk extraction beyond the limits of your plan.
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that violates the rights of others.
  • Circumvent authentication, rate limits, quotas, or other technical restrictions.

5. Rate limits and quotas

Each plan carries rate limits and usage quotas, published in the documentation and shown in the portal. We may throttle or reject requests that exceed them, and we may adjust limits to protect the Service. If your usage pattern harms the Service or other customers, we may restrict it while we work it out with you.

6. Data disclaimer

Job postings originate from employers’ public career sites. Employers change, remove, and repost jobs without telling anyone, and postings can contain errors we did not introduce. The data is provided as is. We make no warranty of accuracy, completeness, or availability, and we do not warrant that any posting represents a real, open vacancy.

7. Changes to the API

The API is versioned. Within a version we may make additive, non-breaking changes (new endpoints, new fields) at any time. For breaking changes we will give you notice through the portal or by email before they take effect, with a migration window where practical.

8. Termination

You can close your account at any time. We can suspend or terminate your access at any time, including for breach of these terms. On termination, your API keys are revoked and your access to the Service ends. Sections that by their nature should survive (including acceptable use, disclaimers, and the liability cap) survive termination.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data, arising out of or relating to the Service. Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or one hundred U.S. dollars (USD 100).

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Courts located in Arizona have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes relating to these terms or the Service, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
